Article "Giving learners a voice in correction and feedback" - Week 6 Reflection

As it is mentioned in the article, I agree that error correction contributes to the target language acquisition but it is only part of the process of giving feedback.
When feedback is focused on “what is said” rather than “how it is said”, students are encouraged to say more and learning opportunities are maximised.
Besides that, I found it really interesting the strategies the author points out to direct correction to a more learner-centered and autonomous approach. Although the research described in the article wasn’t conclusive, I believe that training students to analyse their own and each other’s production and to request feedback on it is a very motivating and effective way to give students more control of their own learning in this area.
